I would like to welcome visitors to our website for Q3 Academy Langley – whatever your interest in our academy we hope you find the information useful. I am incredibly honoured to have been appointed the founding Headteacher at Q3 Academy Langley (in 2016) and along with my dedicated, and committed, team of staff we will ensure that all students feel safe and excited as they embark on their secondary education with us. We are now into our ninth academic year of operation with approximately 1440 students on roll, aged 11-16. On this page you can read our latest Ofsted report following the visit on the 10th and 11th December 2024. As a school community we are really proud of the whole report and feels it captures the essence of our ‘not normal’ school!
Our unique transition curriculum ensures that all students achieve their potential and feel right at home at secondary school straight away and has drawn interest from far and wide with educators visiting us to find out more about how we facilitate this. We are a host school for the Exemplary Leadership Programme and also a lead school within the Sandwell and Walsall PEIA Self-Regulation and Metacognition strand. In 2023-24 we hosted over 150 colleagues including some international visitors nonetheless! In September 2024, our students and staff featured in the BBC Panorama documentary entitled ‘‘Can we live without our phones?”
Our innovative timetable including the bespoke Horizon, Innov8 and Cloud 9 curriculum, as well as a firm focus on EBacc subjects, has led to us being the school of choice in the local area and continually being oversubscribed ever since we opened. Our unique approach to school; Family Lunch and Breakfast, the Company system, Wednesday afternoon enrichment offer, and Parent Evening model is unlike any other school locally and shows how we are #changingthenarrative for what is possible here in Sandwell. We have been externally recognised by being named as the Secondary School of the Year at the Education Today Awards in late 2024. Furthermore other external validation has come from both the TES Awards (shortlisted) and also the Pearson Awards (Bronze).
In addition to this our DfE Performance Table results in 2024 (and over the last three years) show Q3 Academy Langley is now one of the top performing schools not only locally in Sandwell but indeed across the whole of the Midlands. This means that I am extremely confident that students, parents and carers who choose Q3 Academy Langley will feel they have made the right decision from the very start and be excited to join the Q3 family on this exciting journey together as we see the academy grow to full capacity of approximately 1500 students by September 2025.
